Little Rock Eye Clinic

History

The Little Rock Eye Clinic grew out of the original Cosgrove and Henry Clinic. Dr. Forrest Henry joined that practice in 1948 and, in 1960, helped to transform the group from an eye, ear, nose, and throat specialty into an ophthalmology practice.

Dr. Cliff Clifton joined the practice in 1976 and was followed by Dr. Charles Henry in 1986. In the spring of 1986, the clinic relocated to Kanis Road. In 1991, Dr. Dan Hennessey joined the practice; and in January 1992, Dr. Michael Roberson also joined the practice. At that time, the name of the clinic was changed to Little Rock Eye Clinic. Dr. Forrest Henry retired in March 1994, after 46 years in practice.

The clinic moved to its current location at the Baptist Eye Center in June 1997. Through the assistance of the Baptist Hospital, the clinic started a neuro-ophthalmology service and hired Dr. Andrew Lawton in 1999. Dr. Tracy Baltz joined the practice in 2002. Also in 2002 , the clinic incorporated the long-time practice of Dr. James
Mayne Parker. In 2003, the clinic incorporated the long-time practice of Dr. Ed Hankins, III, and opened the Little Rock Eye Clinic West, located at 4200 North Rodney Parham Road. Dr. Parker began his practice in September 1972 at Doctors Hospital and Dr. Hankins began his practice at the same location in July 1974. Dr. Parker retired from the practice on May, 31, 2007. In March of 2007, Dr. Monica Dellimore joined the practice; and in November of 2007, Dr. Lydia Lane (Dworkin) joined the practice.

Thus, the current Little Rock Eye Clinic represents a continuum of eye care of over 55 years expanding over 215 individual man-years of the surgical, medical, and ophthalmic care of patients in Central Arkansas and throughout other areas of the state.
